We are a youngish couple and have two beautiful boys. Alex is 12 years and Harry is 8 years. In October 2001, only 5 weeks after Harry was hatched  we set off on a 2 month trip to North Queensland. At the time our home on wheels was a very old Chesney Kampa GT (which we loved to death), so my mother thought it best (with a new born baby) that we took their new "Gazelle" Infinity 17ft pop top. We all know that mums know best so with very little persuading we said YES. We had a ball on that trip even though our life was dictated by breast feeding and sleeps. At this stage we made the decision to take 12 months off and travel around Australia and even decided when it was going to happen. We wanted Harry to be 4 years old as was Alex on that trip. So 2006 was the year chosen. As part of the trip preparation it was necessary to upgrade our van to something bigger and easier and quicker to set up.

After searching for over 12 months we became the proud owners of a 21 year old 'Viscount Grand Tourer'(See 'Our Story' for more details). The old Viscount was in great condition (even better now) and we picked it up for less than $10,000-00. My point is that you don't have to spend a fortune to see this beautiful country and to enjoy quality family time together.

We departed  Bundaberg on the 10th December 2005 for nearly 14 months on the road. That trip ended in February 2007 and plans were made to again take off later that year, this time for 3 years. Unlike the first trip this one will be a combination of a little work as well as touring.

So the 14th December 2007 was departure day. To follow our adventures and hopefully to be inspired continue to log onto this web page. It will continue to be updated monthly, hopefully with never a dull moment.
If you would like to find out a little more about our van and some of the 3000 modifications I have made to the caravan click on Our Story.
If you want to follow our adventures click on the month that interests you in ' Our Trip'.

We hope you enjoy our site as much as we have traveling.

If you would like to contact us you can send an e-mail to parfitt(@)followourtrip.com. We send and retrieve our e-mails via a laptop and Telstra wireless card which works whenever we have Next G reception . We check our mail at least weekly (if in phone range) and will in most cases get back to you within a few days.
Brett, Chris, Alex and Harry.
